How, when and why?
Let’s be real. The thought of doing endless sit ups, burpee’s and push up’s is not on your radar right now.
You carried around a constantly growing miniature person for 9 months. And whether you opted for natural birth or C-Section, your body needs a big hug right now.
We get it… There’s a lot of pressure to be back to your pre-baby self with a toned, taut tummy and a post-pregnancy glow 5 minutes after you leave hospital. Our proud Mums here at Rockwear want to give you some easy tips with a twist of reality.
We want you to know some helpful tidbits on how, when and why getting back into exercise is so important for you AND your new bub!
Remember to start slow and steady.
Your mental and physical health is the priority here, not just your fitness.
Going for a walk or a gentle swim is the perfect way to ease into your recovery. Plus it’s a good excuse to get out of the house!
We know you probably want to fit into your skinny jeans and little skirts again, but forcing your body to ‘be fine’ before you really feel it is a surefire way to wind up crying on the kitchen floor with an empty tub of Ben and Jerry’s.
Make sure you consult your doctor before getting back to exercise and in the meantime try using your down time to meditate or catch up on the bachelorette...whichever one suits you!
We can tell you a thousand facts and figures about exercise, but at the end of the day they don’t mean anything.
You know that feeling after you’ve finished a workout and you look sweaty and disgusting but feel strong and capable? That’s a feeling that is only going to help you in this time.
Regular exercise after your pregnancy can help you drop extra baby weight, reduce back pain, reduce leg cramps and help you get a good night’s sleep!
So just remember, you will get back to feeling like your awesome, fabulous, fit self. Take it day by day and be proud of what you’ve achieved.
